Kawasaki's 450 plan is the story of the week. MX2K reports that Pauls Jonass will be the team's only rider in the premier class next season, a claim we grade A on the board. One bike, one name, and a lot of riders who had that seat pencilled in now looking elsewhere.
The same source carries a second A-grade item from the Kawasaki camp: Malcolm Stewart will miss the 2026 Paris Supercross because the team will not release him. Reported as a hard no rather than a scheduling niggle.
Chase Sexton remains the biggest unresolved name on the board, and the reporting is softer. SwapMoto suggests Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha for 2027 while questioning whether the fit works. That one grades B.
Two further B-grade claims come from the Reddit moto forums. One puts Sexton at Quadlock Honda with the caveat that he would not get the factory parts he wants. The other repeats the Star Racing Yamaha link and flags money as the sticking point. Three destinations, no paperwork, plenty of hedging.
At the lower end, MX2K claims Jake Cannon signed with Bud Racing then backed out. Grade C, treat accordingly.
The confirmations were busier than the rumours. SwapMoto reports Ryder DiFrancesco and Daxton Bennick both joining Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for 2027, and Nate Thrasher signing with Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki. Joey Savatgy has left Quadlock Honda.
Europe filled in around the edges. Gatedrop confirms Andrea Uccellini and Niccolo Mannini to Racestore KTM, Gennaro Utech to Beta for EMX250, Jarne Bervoets to Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM after leaving Yamaha, and Ben Watson to Dirt Store Triumph Racing for the 2027 Arenacross British Championship. MX2K adds Nicolo Alvisi to Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki in EMX250.
No denials were issued all week. Nobody pushed back on anything, which in this market usually means the quiet ones are still negotiating.
The ledger: 37 new claims, 38 confirmations, 98 live rumours on the board.
Next week should answer who partners Jonass, or whether Kawasaki really does go alone. And whether anyone can put a number on the Sexton deal.
