Eighteen months of talk, still no press release. The Racer X podcasts report that Jett Lawrence's renewal with Honda HRC remains officially unannounced, a claim we grade A. Nobody in the paddock disputes the substance. The only mystery is why the announcement keeps slipping.
That is the week in miniature. Seventy-one new claims went on the board, 42 were confirmed, and 180 remain live.
The confirmed business was led by Malcolm Stewart to factory Kawasaki for 2027. GateDrop and the Pulpmx Show both have the deal covering Pro Motocross as well as Supercross, which matters for a rider whose recent contracts have not always stretched that far. Pulpmx goes further and suggests Kawasaki could line up three 450s next year with Stewart, Garrett Marchbanks and Chase Sexton.
Elsewhere in the confirmed column: Louis Vosters and Ducati Corse have extended the Red Bull Ducati factory MXGP partnership to the end of 2029, Camden McLellan stays in MX2 with Triumph for 2027, and Cedric Soubeyras has signed with Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki for the full Australian Supercross season. JHL Moto will debut at the Shanghai Grand Prix as the first Chinese manufacturer in MXGP.
GateDrop reports, grade A, that Haiden Deegan and Star Racing will sit out the 2026 Motocross of Nations, and that Deegan rejects the suggestion he would only turn up for start money. Pulpmx has Star asking $25,000 per bike for a squad of Deegan, Justin Cooper and Levi Kitchen. Vital MX says Kitchen was penned in for the 250 spot throughout. Those accounts do not sit comfortably together.
On the denials, Pulpmx knocked down the story that Chase Sexton was at the last GP shopping for a ride, and the related fan theory about him taking Lucas Coenen's KTM seat. Vital MX also put the Jeremy Seewer retirement line back in its box, where it belonged.
Two smaller A-grades worth keeping: Pulpmx says RJ Hampshire came close to a Supercross-only deal that fell over, and that Justin Hill will contest the Ironman finale for Team Tedder. Hunter Yoder has converted his Club MX tryout into a full deal.
Next week should tell us whether Honda finally puts Lawrence on paper, and who fills the American 450 seat at Ironman.
